The Environment Act 2021 brings into law mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), whereby planning applications granted in England must, with few exceptions, demonstrate a 10% net gain in biological diversity for at least 30 years, via habitat enhancement or creation. These measures can be on-site, off-site or a combination of both.
For Developers
We can provide guaranteed BNG baseline surveys and plans to support your planning application.
Where BNG can be achieved on your site, we can manage your 30+ year liability by delivering your habitat enhancement or creation obligations.
Where BNG is required to be delivered offsite, we will secure the corresponding BNG units with participating landowners, administer the agreement and deliver your 30+ year biodiversity net gain obligations.
For landowners
We can provide BNG baseline surveys to establish the potential uplift in biodiversity units on your land.
We can secure sales of your available biodiversity units to participating developers and administer the agreement, securing investment in your holding for 30+ years.
Where you are not in a position to administer habitat enhancement or creation on your site, we can conduct land management to deliver your biodiversity obligations.
